The Lisu Alphabet is a writing system used for the Lisu language, spoken by the Lisu people in China, Myanmar, Thailand, and India. It was created in the early 20th century by missionary James O. Fraser, together with local Lisu speakers, to make reading and writing easier for the community. The script is also known as the Fraser alphabet and is based on the Roman letters, making it simple and practical to use. Over time, it has become an important part of education and communication among Lisu-speaking communities.

The Lisu script uses capital-style Latin letters to represent sounds, but it does not include small letters. Each symbol represents a clear sound in the Lisu language, which helps readers pronounce words correctly. Today, the Lisu Alphabet is officially recognized in China and continues to be used in books, schools, and digital platforms, preserving the language and identity of the Lisu people across different countries.
