Who We Are
SymbolSelect is a free online tool built by a small team of developers who love making things simple. We created this site because we kept running into the same problem: finding a specific Unicode symbol online was way harder than it should be. You either had to dig through long boring lists, look up confusing code values, or just give up and use a basic character map on your computer. We thought that was frustrating, so we built something better.
Our goal has always been to give people a clean, easy-to-use place where they can find any symbol they need in just a few seconds, without needing any technical knowledge.
What We Offer
Unicode has over 140,000 characters. That is a lot. We have organized them into more than 300 categories so you do not have to scroll through thousands of symbols just to find one arrow or one heart. Every category is clearly named and easy to browse, even if you have never used the site before.
You can search by name or keyword, browse by category, or just scroll through until you spot what you need. When you find your symbol, one click copies it to your clipboard. That is it. No sign-up, no download, no fuss.
Why We Built It
Most symbol websites we found were either too technical or too messy. Some showed raw code values with no explanation. Others had huge flat lists with no way to filter. A few only covered emoji and ignored everything else. None of them felt easy to use for a regular person who just needs a checkmark, a copyright sign, or a cool arrow for their post.
We wanted to build something that anyone could use without reading a manual. So we focused on two things: good organization and a clean interface. That is really all it took to make something people actually enjoy using.
Kept Simple on Purpose
We did not add a lot of extra features or flashy stuff. We kept things simple because that is what works best for this kind of tool. The page loads fast, there are no pop-ups asking you to sign up, and there is nothing to install. It just works.
