The Shavian Alphabet is a modern writing system created in the mid-20th century as an alternative way to write the English language. It was designed to make English spelling more consistent and phonetic, so words could be written exactly as they sound. The script was named after the famous playwright George Bernard Shaw, who supported the idea of a simpler and more logical English alphabet.

The Shavian script contains 48 letters, each representing a unique sound in English. Unlike the Latin alphabet, it does not use capital or lowercase forms, and every symbol has a clear sound value. The letters were designed to be easy to write and recognize, making reading and learning English more straightforward for new learners.

Although the Shavian alphabet never became widely adopted, it remains an interesting part of linguistic history. It reflects a creative effort to reform English spelling and continues to attract attention from language enthusiasts and scholars today.
