The Tagalog Alphabet, also known as the Baybayin script, is an ancient writing system that was used in the Philippines before the arrival of Spanish colonization. It was mainly used to write the Tagalog language but could also be adapted for other Philippine languages. The alphabet has 17 basic characters, 14 consonants and 3 vowels, and is written from left to right. Each letter represents a syllable, making Baybayin a type of abugida. On this page, you will find a full section of Tagalog letters, symbols, characters, and script details that represent the history and beauty of this traditional alphabet.

The Tagalog language remains one of the most widely spoken languages in the Philippines, and the Baybayin script is an important part of its cultural identity. Though it is no longer used for daily writing, many artists, writers, and learners continue to study and use it to preserve heritage. Each Tagalog symbol carries both artistic and historical value, showing how people in ancient times recorded their thoughts and stories. These characters can be copied, studied, and used in creative or educational projects to celebrate the deep roots of the Tagalog language.
