The Tirhuta Alphabet, also known as the Mithilakshar script, is an ancient writing system used for the Maithili language. It has a long history that goes back more than 700 years and was once widely used across the Mithila region of India and Nepal. The script has 33 main consonant letters and 12 vowel signs, similar to other Indian scripts derived from Brahmi. Tirhuta is beautifully written from left to right and is known for its elegant, rounded shapes.
